Meeting Minutes

    

Robbin and Shannon are the best flower arrangers!!

President Liz called the meeting to order at 9:30 am.

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

42 members were present.  One guest was introduced.

Liz thanked the hostesses Debbie, Sue, Lynne and Barbara

The Program chair introduced Nancy from Nancy Green Garden Floral Shop. Nancy introduced Robin and Shannon who gave a floral presentation on how to make floral arrangements from the thing we have in our garden and from around Kitsap area.

               Helpful hints:

                    1.  Get basic shape of arrangement first and then fill in.  

                    2. to fix drooping flowers put them in hot water.

                    3.  If bulbs leaves are getting too tall put one Tablespoon of vodka in one cup of water for watering.

Minutes from October Meeting were approved.

Treasurer Report: Ann reported that we have a balance of $7360.82

Dawn asked that everyone pay the $5.00 for the Christmas party as soon as possible.  Money may be sent to her home.

Committee reports:

           Cathy-Christmas Party :  The Holiday Party is Dec. 13, 11:00AM-1:15at the

           Kingston Yacht Club   Last Names   A-H : Bring a dessert     Last Names  I-Z  

           Bring salad or side dish. Bring unwrapped gift for a child. We will

           distribute gifts to Sharenet and the Kingston Food Bank

            Dan Hinckley Garden Raffle: Hollace V. will take charge of this raffle.

            Plant Sale: We need more black pots, one gal size.  We now have over 500 plants.

            We still have a few more potting Parties so please come and help.!!!!!!

New Business:    Kay P.  states that 11-25, the Friday after Thanksgiving they will be decorating downtown  Kingston ,wrapping the poles ETC starting at 9:30am.  SAT. The 26th,  they will make swag for the port, bring greenery if you have some to share. 

Nancy Green Garden:  will have open house Nov 25-27.

Carol- Holiday Bazaar at United Methodist Church  Friday and Saturday with lunch and pie.

Show and Tell : Maxine brought in a branch of her beautiful Spindle Tree (euonymus europaeus),  Elaine brought a rhododendron that was blooming to share.

Joani asked that we place our name tag in the baskets provided before we go so that she could collect them for the next meeting. She held a drawing and awarded a gift to a lucky club member.

Meeting was adjourned at 11:05am .
